Angle of Thought

 

The head is shaken by the wind blowing from somewhere, and the strength of the wind tilts the angle of thought.

This work visualizes the concerns of human life and makes metaphysical thoughts.

Worries about life make each people bow their heads.

Different attitudes toward life cause conflict.

The external environment, disordered society, and pandemic chaos are absorbed into the body frame of the human form.

Homo sapiens think and expresses emotions. The color that permeates and spreads and the tilted head are gestures of human thought.

In the Linesayu series, after making a drawing board in a woodworking shop, Korean paper is placed on the drawing board and water is sprayed. After a certain period of time, fix the Hanji(Korean paper) with the backing glue. After the Hanji is dry, tension makes it taut. Place a thin drawing paper on it and arrange the composition. Human beings are born in a limited space on a flat surface. Life begins and humans think. A human figure thinking with a pencil is drawn in an uncertain situation. Draw a figure that is thinking with a pencil on drawing paper and uses water-based paint on top of that for it to penetrate Hanji, leaving traces of color. Draw the weight of life on the traces of color. By controlling the amount of water the brush holds, the dry and wet lines are overlapped and crossed. The lines permeating Hanji depict human concerns about life, just as a wind blowing from a certain direction shakes a reed.

The outline of the contemplative figure with its head tilted is drawn with Jungbung with a standing brush. The lines and slanted heads absorbed in Hanji are the features formed in human relationships. The human figure, located alone on a flat surface or leaning inward in the court, is a monologue on the stage of a lonely human who wants to escape from complex human external and internal conflicts.

In the work of the Permeate series, the human figure and head, and body are cut out with scissors from an aluminum coil. After dipping the skeleton in gesso and drying it, the human is shaped with Hanji by hand. One side of the human figure is left uncolored, and the human figure on the opposite side is bent and facing downward. It paints and permeates the figure of a thinking human facing downward. Then, the varnish is applied. Irregularly attach a human shape to a flat surface. Head and torso without arms and legs. Arms and legs are the means by which human beings can do something. The head and body are mental things, not means of action. Only the head and torso were used to express the human essence. The human figure is cut into two parts on either side. One side is human nature that has not been stained, and the other side is in contact with the relationship between beings in the outside world. The results permeated with this appear dyed in their own colors and adapt to the situation. There are shadows that appeared when the light of the exhibition hall and natural light did not pass through the frame of reason permeated by the external existence. The shadow is another existence that makes one think deeply about the meaning of one's own existence and life. The human form attached to the flat surface undergoes social weathering downward by the gravity of life. The human frame is colored and the uncertain life is thought of as the way of each individual's life.

Realizing that modern people face tragic situations, the artist focuses on the universal and fundamental theme of human suffering. 사유의 각도

 

알 수 없는 방향에서 불어오는 바람에 의해 고개는 흔들리고 바람의 세기에 의해 사유의 각도는 기울어진다.

이번 작품은 인간 삶에 대한 고민을 시각화하여 형이상학적으로 사유한다.

삶에 대한 고민은 각자의 고개를 숙이게 한다.

각자 다른 삶에 대한 태도는 갈등을 유발시킨다.

외부 환경, 혼돈된 사회, 팬데믹의 혼란은 인간의 형상 몸틀로 흡수된다.

사유하는 호모사피엔스는 감정을 표출한다. 스며들고 번지는 색채와 기울어진 고개는 인간 사유의 몸짓이다.

linesayu시리즈 작업 과정은 목공소에서 화판을 제작 후 화판 위에 한지를 올리고 물을 분무기로 뿌린다. 물을 충분히 뿌린 후 어느 정도 시간이 지나면 배접 풀로 한지를 고정시킨다. 한지가 마른 후에 장력에 의해 한지는 팽팽해 진다. 그 위에 얇은 화선지를 올리고 구도를 잡는다. 평면의 한정된 공간에서 인간은 탄생한다. 삶은 시작되고 인간은 사유한다. 불확실한 상황의 위치에 연필로 사유하는 인간의 형상을 그린다. 연필로 화선지 위에 그린 사유하는 형상 위에 수성 물감으로 형태를 그리면 화선지를 투과하여 한지에 스며들어 색채의 흔적을 남긴다. 색의 흔적 위에 삶에 대한 무게를 그린다. 붓이 머금은 물의 양을 조절하여 건조한 선과 습한 선을 중첩과 교차로 그려나간다. 한지에 스며든 선은 알 수 없는 방향에서 불어오는 바람이 갈대를 흔들 듯이 인간의 삶에 대한 고민을 그린다.

고개가 기울어진 사유하는 형상의 외곽선은 붓을 세워서 중봉으로 그린다. 한지에 흡수된 선과 기울어진 고개는 인간 관계에서 형성된 모습이다. 홀로 평면에 위치하거나 궁중 속에 외로이 있는 갸우뚱하게 기울어져 있는 인간의 형상은 복잡한 인간의 외적갈등과 내적갈등에서에서 벗어 나고 싶은 고독한 인간의 무대 위의 독백이다.

인간이 겪는 불안한 감정, 초조감, 근심, 고민, 망설임, 분노, 방황을 각자의 사유의 각도로 측정해본다.

Permeate 시리즈 작업 과정은 알루미늄 코일을 가위로 인간의 형상, 머리와 몸통을 가위로 오린다. 뼈대를 젯소에 담그고 건조시킨 후 한지로 인간의 형상을 손으로 형태를 만든다. 인간의 형상 한쪽 부분은 색을 입히지 않고 반대 방향의 인간의 형상은 아래로 향하게 인간의 형상을 구부려 아래로 향하게 한다. 아래로 향해 있는 사유하는 인간의 형상에 색을 칠해 스며들게 한다. 그리고 바니쉬를 바른다. 평면에 불규칙하게 인간의 형상을 붙인다. 팔과 다리를 생략하고 머리와 몸통만 있다. 팔과 다리는 인간의 무언가를 하는 행위의 수단이다. 머리와 몸통은 행위의 수단이 아닌 정신적인 것, 인간의 본질을 표현하고자 머리와 몸통만 표현했다. 인간의 형상을 양쪽 두 부분으로 오리고 한쪽은 물들지 않은 인간의 본성과 다른 한쪽은 외부세계에 존재하는 존재와의 관계에서 접촉하여 스며든 결과물은 각자의 색이 물들여져 나타나며 그 상황에 맞춰 적응한다. 전시장의 조명과 자연광의 빛이 외부의 존재가 스며든 사유의 틀을 통과하지 못하여 나타난 그림자가 있다. 그림자는 자신의 존재의 의미, 삶을 깊게 생각하게 하는 또 다른 존재이다. 평면에 붙어 있는 인간의 형상은 삶의 중력에 의해 아래로 향해 사회적 풍화작용으로 인간의 틀은 물들어지고 불확실한 삶을 각 개인의 삶의 방식으로 사유한다.

현대인의 삶이 비극적인 상황에 직면하고 있음을 깨닫고 인간의 고통이라는 보편적이고 근원적인 주제에 관심을 갖고 있다. 비극적인 상황에서 이를 극복하는 정신, 인간에 의해 만들어진 비극적 상황 속에서 예술가는 작품 행위를 통해 인생의 궁극적인 목적 자아를 실현하고자 한다.
